Games Expo – Anticipation

So I am off to Games Expo later today, and I thought I would highlight some of the things I am really looking forward to playing. I was originally going to be playing in the Netrunner Nationals but I’ve decided to skip that and I’ll have a lot of time to wander the halls and try games old and new. In no particular order:

Seeing loads of old friends that I haven’t seen in far too long, years in the case of some of them.

Meeting up with the Little Metal Dog Show and play some of the games he has from tokyo games market.

Mysterium – that game looks nuts and I really want to see the Essen release version which I believe is going to be there.

Forbidden Stars – The new 40k themed game from FFG is going to be there and I hope to sit down for a game or two.

Playtesting UK – I’m on the stand for an hour and a half on Saturday from 10 showing off Minions in a very early alpha form. Looking forward to meeting up with fellow designers and tearing each others games apart. In a nice way.

Being surprised – I’m mostly hoping to come across some games that blow me out of the water with their humour, design or elegance.

See you on the ground folks!
