Uk Games Expo 2018 – The Final Previewing

It has come to this my friends. Now at the last moment of our time together we will look across the vast fields of Exhibitors and judge them through the eyes of me, for I have looked long and hard to pick the diamonds from the rough for you my loyal readers. I have spent the time so that you may sup more drinks, eat more food and play more games with your friends safe in the knowledge that the exhibitors I have picked are the best (probably). Come with me now as we venture once more into the depths of UK Games Expo 2018 with our +3 Stick of Judgement!

Squarehex

With the renewed interest in my group of playing in D&D I’ll be looking for some accessories. I am also really interested in the Black Hack, love me a good Indie RPG.

Steamforged Games

They stormed it on Kickstarter with Godtear so I would be really interested to see what all the fuss is about and maybe pick up any Dark Souls things my mate doesn’t have yet.

Steve Jackson Games

I’ll be brutally honest, I think Munchkin is a terrible game. That said I’ve heard good things about the CCG so would love to give it a shot.

Stuff by Bez

Whilst I didn’t get on with Wibbell++ as much as some, it is hard to deny the enthusiasm and knowledge that Bez brings to her designs. Her latest design Kitty Cataclysm should be available to play and I still haven’t tried the Twister-in-a-Box that is Yogi.

Taiwan Board Game Design

A whole slew of titles I have never heard off from the other side of the world! Where do I sign up?

The City of Games

This company seems to be going from strength to strength and are currently on Kickstarter with a second edition of City of Kings. Hope to get a chance to see what all the fuss is about and to have a go of the new tile layer.

Thieves of Time

Graham Walmsley is one of  the old Collective Endeavour crew and has gone on to produce a large number of excellent RPG works. I highly recommend checking him out.

Thundergryph Games

These folks have some seriously pretty games which my fellow reviewer Rory Somers seems to really rate. I’ll have to check them out for myself!

Wizama

Another company combining the physical and the digital. Could be interesting?

Yay Games

I really enjoyed Ominoes at Dragonmeet so I am looking forward to trying more from this company!

I think that is it for my final preview. Keep in mind that these are just the ones that interest me and therefore might interest you as a reader of my blog. If you want a reminder of the kind of games I like then check out my collection which you can find a link to on the front page of the site.

I’m looking forward to meeting some of you down at UK Games Expo and don’t forget to come up and say hi if you see me wandering around. Let me know what you think is worth seeing!
